The George H. Riedel Foundation has awarded a $5,000 grant to the Good Neighbor Project, a community initiative dedicated to helping Hannibal residents meet essential needs such as housing, utilities, and transportation.

Established in 2013, the Good Neighbor Project operates through Holy Family Catholic Church and collaborates with local agencies to assist individuals who have exhausted other options. The program has provided more than $200,000 in aid since its founding, guided by its mission to serve all in need without distinction.

“This grant from the Riedel Foundation is a tremendous boost to our efforts,” said Claire Robinson of the Good Neighbor Project. “It allows us to extend our reach and respond more fully to the growing needs in our community.”

The program is sustained through parish fundraisers and donations from Holy Family parishioners. This marks the first time the Good Neighbor Project has received support from the Riedel Foundation.

Founded in 2000, the Riedel Foundation has awarded about $6.5 million in grants to Hannibal-based nonprofits that improve the quality of life for local residents.
